Job description

Join to apply for the Welder - MSF Aluminum role at Communications & Power Industries (CPI).

Responsibilities
  1. Welds metal components with brazing and arc/gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment.
  2. Performs welding on aluminum and steel parts to meet tolerances using appropriate metals and alloys.
  3. Must pass welding certification tests.
  4. Performs thermal cutting and grinding as related tasks.
  5. Repairs broken/cracked parts, fills holes, and enlarges metal parts.
  6. Locates and repairs cracks in products and equipment.
  7. Maintains a clean work environment.
  8. Operates various machines including lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinders, and shears.
  9. Interprets drawings and specifications to determine layouts and welds.
  10. May monitor quality according to control procedures.
  11. Works independently, interpreting sketches and designs to produce weldments, sometimes without established procedures.
