Position Summary

Responsible for selecting equipment, planning layout, assembly, welding, and installation.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Lay out, position, align, and fit components together for installation.
2. Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
3. Hoist equipment and tools into position via rigging or crane.
4. Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and levels.
5. Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and supervisor instructions.
6. Cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment.
7. Additional responsibilities not listed may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
• Knowledge and understanding of MSDS sheets in coordination with management/supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
