Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks a Training Manager in Waterloo, IA to lead onboarding and ongoing skills and compliance training across the organization, ensuring employees are trained safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The role partners with department leaders to tailor programs for production, operations, and support functions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in HR/Business, 3–5 years of training/L&D experience, and a proven ability to design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Education, Business, or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in training, learning & development or related role.
• Experience delivering training across multiple departments; familiarity with production processes is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and deliver hands-on technical training across departments and job functions.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry-specific compliance requirements.
• Basic understanding of shop math and ability to read blueprints, specifications, and follow procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, including managing training records and certification tracking.
• Excellent communication skills to train employees across varying experience levels and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and ongoing skills training across the organization.
• Deliver structured onboarding training for new employees company-wide, including safety protocols and policies.
• Administer internal skills assessments and evaluate new hire readiness.
• Design and deliver ongoing training to reinforce quality workmanship and job proficiency.
• Maintain compliance training curricula including OSHA requirements and PPE use.
• Track and manage training records, certifications, and renewal schedules.
• Coordinate training for new equipment, tooling, systems, or process changes with engineering and operations.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs based on results.
• Maintain training materials, job aids, SOPs, and e-learning content.
• Document actions by completing training and compliance forms.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and wearing PPE.
• Identify safety hazards through surveys and contribute to team results.
