Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the design and development of test systems for electromechanical products from prototype to high-volume production. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, building test hardware, Python scripts, and data pipelines for manufacturing data.

Qualifications

• BS in Robotics, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline with professional experience combining hardware design and software integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and validate hardware and software solutions for electromechanical factory test systems from prototype to mass production.
• Develop Python-based test scripts and integrate hardware interfaces (sensors, actuators, motion systems).
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing engineering teams to define test strategies and deploy robust, scalable tools across multiple production sites.
• Build and support internal tools and services for collecting, storing, and analyzing manufacturing data (calibration results, EMS logs, configuration and test data).
• Apply data science techniques to extract insights from manufacturing performance data and inform design, quality, and operations decisions.
• Continuously improve development, testing and deployment processes to streamline software releases across global factories.
