Job summary

OKSI is seeking a Production/Manufacturing Technician in Torrance, CA to support fabrication, assembly, testing, inventory and shipment of hardware systems. You will work hands-on in a fast-paced environment and contribute to process improvements and production efficiency.

The role involves procurement, assembly of drones and optics, QA testing, logistics, and cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers.

Qualifications

• Read mechanical drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
• Experience assembling mechanical and/or electronic systems.
• Familiarity with basic tools and shop equipment (torque drivers, calipers, soldering irons).
• Competence using inventory tracking systems or ERP platforms.
• Understanding of ESD safety, hardware labeling and cleanroom/bench practices.
• Familiarity with QA standards and inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Inventory Management: Procure parts from approved vendors and maintain accurate inventory of components.
• Assembly & Work Instructions: Follow detailed work instructions to assemble complex systems and improve instructions.
• Testing & Quality Control: Support test procedures and inspect for quality, documenting results.
• Shipping & Logistics: Package and label finished systems for shipment and coordinate with carriers.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work with engineers to understand build requirements and suggest improvements.
• Prototyping & Support: Assist in building early prototypes and maintain organized workspaces for rapid iteration.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain inventory logs, assembly records and test reports for future designs.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to safety and productivity.
