Job summary

Angelus is hiring a Manufacturing Technician I at our Waukesha, WI facility. You will assemble cable assemblies per technical specs, read and apply work instructions, and operate soldering and crimping equipment to attach connectors such as USB, USB 3.0, Ethernet, and coaxial.

You will document production records, ensure quality per print specifications, and collaborate with a team to meet production goals while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble standard electronic cable, connectors and components per customer specifications.

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Manufacturing Technician I assemble standard electronic cable, connectors and connector components together to create cable assemblies according to customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Compliance with Work Instructions, Policies and Procedures
• Read, understand, and apply knowledge to customer jobs in strict adherence to Production Work Instructions and company policies.
• Interpretation of Technical Documentation
• Review and interpret work orders, diagrams, prints, and other technical specifications to determine materials and processes required to produce cable assemblies.
• Cable Assembly Production
• Identify and select the appropriate cable types, ensuring precise measurement and cutting to required lengths.
• Operate a laser wire marker to accurately mark and cut cables to specified dimensions.
• Follow detailed work instructions to assemble cables using soldering and crimping techniques, integrating connectors such as coaxial, USB, USB 3.0, and Ethernet.
• Securely attach connectors and components according to technical specifications to produce high-quality cable assemblies.
• Labeling and Finishing
• Prepare and attach labels, ties, and shrink tubing to cable assemblies.
• Apply shrink tubing and labels using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Conduct continuity and short testing when troubleshooting cable assemblies.
• Ensure cable assemblies are finished as required.
• Prepare kitting materials on work orders.
• Setup and operate machinery.

Equipment Used

This position requires daily use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers, copiers, and calculators. This position requires daily of use small hand-held tools and electronic equipment including but not limited to soldering equipment and label printer. Ability to use magnifying light as necessary or needed. Ensure compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements when performing applicable tasks.

Personal Protective Equipment

Safety glasses must be worn at all times, and safety shoes must be worn if handling cable spools. When using sharp blades, cut resistant gloves must be worn at all times. Heat resistant gloves are available when necessary for projects.
