Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a skilled machinist in Georgia to plan, setup, operate, and adjust machine tools for precision parts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years post-secondary/Associates with 2+ years related experience.
• Associate's Degree in Machine Tool Technology is a plus; blueprint reading is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines
• Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
• Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances
• Fabricates piece parts per work instructions, drawings and specifications through the use of required machine tools
• Inspects piece parts per work instruction and drawing requirements
• Operates machine tools
• Will machine energetic materials remotely
• Keeps records and reports of the use of equipment
• May assist in making estimates of the time and materials required to complete an assignment.

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
• Preferred Additional Skills: Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology a plus
• Manual/CNC experience is preferred
• Familiarization of machine tools and equipment, machine shop procedures and practices, principals and properties desired
• Knowledge of basic mathematic principles to solve problems is preferred
• Ability to work in a team environment and relate to all levels of employees is desired
• Have a valid driver's license preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints is preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedule is desired
