Manufacturing Technician will assemble, install, modify, and test printed circuit boards, cables, electronic components, sub-assemblies, or systems using a variety of materials, tools and documentation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics.
- Assemble and install either electrical, electronic, mechanical or hydraulic pneumatic components.
- Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies.
- Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform functional / continuity tests on completed assemblies.
- Perform the assembly, start up, and function test of equipment systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment systems, make necessary repairs and any corrections to the system.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate production line machinery and computers.
- Follows manufactures instructions to mix, apply, cure and store potting materials and epoxies.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Follows assembly drawings and or work instructions to assemble and or attach electrical, electro-mechanical or mechanical parts or devices using epoxies.
- Assembles electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies according to product specifications.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or its equivalent
- 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds required.
- Assembly personnel must be able to clearly recognize a Text Height of .0540” on blueprints and work instructions.
- Assembly personnel must be able to recognize all colors within the visible spectrum to recognize various wiring and labeling specifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, Steel toed work boots, and hardhats.
- Typically reports to a supervisor/manager
