PowerSecure, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Trainer to onboard, train, and continually develop Technicians across levels I to Senior.

The role centers on strengthening workforce capability through structured programs, hands-on instruction, and targeted skill development at our on-site facility. The trainer will bring deep technical knowledge of switchgear and power generation assembly, serving as a subject-matter expert in training delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred in technical/engineering fields.
  • 4+ years in manufacturing, electrical, or technical environment (switchgear, power generation, or similar preferred).
  • Experience in training, coaching, onboarding, or workforce development preferred.
  • Experience developing or delivering structured training programs preferred.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production leadership.
  • Knowledge of electrical/mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly standards, torque requirements, and quality practices.
  • Experience with hand and power tools and safe operation.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (classroom and hands-on).
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for varied skill levels.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structured onboarding programs for new technicians.
  • Deliver hands-on and classroom training on mechanical and electrical assembly processes.
  • Ensure new hires reach baseline competency in safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Create a positive onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Conduct ongoing training for technicians at all levels.
  • Support skill progression from Technician I through Senior Technician.
  • Identify skill gaps and training needs with leadership.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, work instructions, and standard work.
  • Continuously improve training programs using feedback and production data.
  • Roll out new processes, products, and changes through training initiatives.
  • Model respectful behavior and professional standards.
  • Ensure training aligns with safety policies and quality requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement related to workforce capability.
  • Track and document training progress and skill development.
  • Ensure readiness before transitioning to independent work.

The Manufacturing Technical Trainer is responsible for the onboarding, training, and continuous development of Technicians (Levels I, II, and Senior). This role is focused on strengthening workforce capability through structured training programs, hands-on instruction, and targeted skills development. The Trainer brings deep technical knowledge of switchgear and power generation assembly processes and serves as a trusted subject matter expert in training delivery. Equally important are strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills that enable effective knowledge transfer and development of others. This role bridges the gap between training and production, ensuring employees are prepared, confident, and consistently aligned with safety, quality, and operational expectations.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in a technical, manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing, electrical, or technical environment (switchgear, power generation, or similar preferred)
  • Prior experience in training, coaching, onboarding, or workforce development strongly preferred
  • Experience developing or delivering structured training programs preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with production leadership
  • Strong working knowledge with; electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and wiring diagrams; assembly standards, torque requirements, and quality practices; Manufacturing workflows and safety procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of hand and power tools, with a strong focus on safe and effective operation
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (classroom and hands-on)
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for varying skill levels

Working Conditions
  • This position is on-site 5 days per week.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different business needs.
