Job summary

Steel Ceilings, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., seeks a hands-on supervisor to lead a small production team in Johnstown, Ohio. You will mentor staff, enforce safety, quality, and cost targets, and ensure schedules and equipment readiness.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, blueprint literacy, and hands-on operation of fabrication equipment, with opportunities for training in PLC/HMI/CNC and EPICOR.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leading or managing people in manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and use computers for programming equipment.
• Proficiency in fabrication equipment and equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with PLC, HMI, CNC, EPICOR and Trello Production Tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, quality, and daily production goals with staff.
• Ensure OSHA safety standards are followed and reported.
• Train employees and assign work; manage staffing and schedules.
• Coordinate with Procurement to address material issues.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
