Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Kentucky is seeking a Team Lead II to direct daily production, ensuring safety, quality and on-time output while coaching a team of 5-40. The role applies AMS tooling and leads daily Tier One meetings to drive improvement.

Adequate experience and an associate degree are needed; Lean training is preferred. Compensation ranges from $24.95 to $36.15 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and profit-sharing potential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement processes such as 5s and problem-solving methods.
• Lean training or certification preferred.
• Knowledge of operations products, processes, and equipment including safety, quality, changeover and set-up skills and knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and basic machine diagnostic skills.
• Understand the interdependencies (manufacturing/functional groups) across the value stream.
• Requires intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate employees.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying constraints or barriers, problem solving, delegation and sound decision making.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and effectively working with others.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and life-long learner with demonstrated initiative.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the continuous flow of production to meet planned output while following operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance).
• Identify issues, engaging the Tier 1 team in process or problem resolution and escalating appropriate issues to Tier 2 team.
• Partner with Value Stream Supervisors.
• Facilitate training and development of production employees, providing clear expectations of performance, AMS, quality, and safety.
• Provide coaching and feedback.
• Maintain cross-training matrix to effectively utilize knowledge of employee capabilities.
• Coordinate movement of employees to meet business needs.
• Focus on improving business metrics by leading and supporting AMS projects and initiatives.
• Maintain visual management tools (PVA, run charts, CI boards, and Tier 1 boards) to drive continuous improvement and employee engagement.
• Participate in problem solving using AMS tools and methodology (5 Why, PDCA, MCA).
• Demonstrate leadership in communications, conflict resolution, process constraints and problem solving.
• Lead and effectively communicate at daily Tier One meetings to encourage employee participation and engagement.
• Provide support of other production areas as needed, including project support, leader coverage, and cycle counting responsibilities as needed.
• Complete standard work & control plan audits, including but not limited to safety, finished goods quality, scrap, and standard work.
• Participate and complete corrective actions from the MCA process.
• Follow and consistently enforce all safety procedures according to standards.
• Proactively address safety concerns and take action or follow up when appropriate.
