Randstad USA is seeking a Department Team Lead to direct daily shop floor activities, coach team members, and ensure safe, high-quality, efficient manufacturing operations. You will bridge site leadership and staff, drive coaching, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes strong communication, hands-on guidance, adherence to safety and ISO standards, and the ability to monitor production schedules and lead a positive work environment on first shift.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to coach shop floor staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production schedules to meet deadlines as directed by Operational Leadership.
• Complete hourly sign-offs on Day-by-Hour boards with comments and document performance logs.
• Enforce safety and ISO quality standards; verify machine setups against process sheets and address issues.
• Proficiency with standard measurement devices (calipers, VMM, micrometers).
• Coordinate on-the-job training for team members and foster a positive work environment.
• Maintain 5S principles and basic equipment care.

Job description

The Department Team Lead directs and coordinates the daily activities of shop floor team members to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing operations. Serving as the vital link between site leadership and shop floor staff, you will provide daily coaching and hands-on guidance to maintain safety standards, meet production targets, and foster continuous improvement. If you are an experienced manufacturing professional with strong communication skills and a passion for leading teams toward operational excellence.

salary: $50,000 - $62,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Monitor production schedules to ensure timely task completion as directed by Operational Leadership (Supervisor, Value Stream Team Lead, or Value Stream Manager).
• Complete hourly sign-offs on Day-by-Hour boards, documenting non-conforming hourly production targets with detailed comments. Maintain accurate daily production and team performance logs
• Enforce strict adherence to safety and ISO quality standards. Verify setup of machines against established process sheets, ensure team members meet quality expectations, and elevate rework needs or safety risks immediately.
• Proficiency in using standard measurement devices (e.g., calipers, VMM, micrometers).
• Coordinate on-the-job training for team members, foster a positive work environment, and proactively identify and elevate potential employee conflicts
• Assist in maintaining work area cleanliness, 5S standards, and basic equipment care.
• Proficient in basic computer software (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
