Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) seeks a Manufacturing Application Support Engineer to provide technical support for the manufacturing software systems powering high-volume electronics manufacturing.

You will troubleshoot production software issues, perform SQL-based data investigations, and work with Production, Engineering, IT, Software Development, and vendors. The role emphasizes creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, including troubleshooting guides, SOPs, manuals, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Automation, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases; ability to write and execute SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation.
Experience troubleshooting software applications using logs, database records, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Use SQL to investigate and troubleshoot production issues, reviewing transactions, equipment status, lot information, and data inconsistencies.
Support MES, EAP, RMS, FDC, WMS, and related production software.
Create and maintain technical documentation including troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, IT, Software Development, and external vendors to resolve issues.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis for critical or recurring incidents and help identify corrective actions.
Be prepared for after-hours or on-call support as required.
