Job summary

Superior Essex Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the assigned production area in the wire and cable manufacturing process. The role requires supervising staff, coordinating shift activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

The position involves reviewing schedules, prioritizing operations, and directing work to meet customer delivery dates while maintaining efficient production and inventory control.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school and/or three to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Directly supervises employees in the assigned production area.
• Experience applying safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production schedules to ascertain product data and delivery dates.
• Plans production operations and prioritizes manufacturing tasks.
• Assigns personnel, maintains housekeeping and safety standards, and evaluates performance.
• Reviews reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to avoid delays.
• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure optimal operation and train staff on proper use.
• Coordinates with engineering on new processes and designs.
• Enforces rules and resolves worker issues, escalating to management as needed.
• Completes and forwards production data and assists with monthly inventory.
