Job summary

Behr Iron and Metal, An Alter Trading Company, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the Non-Ferrous operations in Davenport, IA. The role focuses on leading a hands-on team, scheduling production and shipments, and ensuring accurate data input into the Production Tracker.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of supervisory experience, familiarity with heavy manufacturing and metals recycling, and strong communication skills to coordinate across all levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in metals recycling operations or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Familiar with operations, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems and heavy equipment.
• Outdoor role in all weather conditions with hands-on operations experience.
• Excellent communication style to coordinate with all levels of staff and contacts.

Manufacturing Supervisor / Non-Ferrous

Full Time Salary Davenport, IA, US

The Role:

This role supports the recycling process overseeing the Non Ferrous (NF) Operations. This may include overseeing and developing the team, scheduling production & shipments and accurately inputting data into our system.

Brief Summary:

Under guidance from the NF Manager, schedule and track daily production to meet sales expectations in safe manner.

Drive efficiencies to maintain and lower monthly operating costs.

Perform safety and production training for personnel.

Record production data into Production Tracker and Monthly Production Logs.

Ensure Materials shipped meet the exact requirements of the customer's order and maintain traceability.

Requirements

3-5 years of supervisor experience. Previous experience in metals recycling operations or heavy manufacturing environment, preferred.

Must be familiar with operations, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems and heavy equipment.

Position is outside in all weather conditions in a heavy manufacturing environment and successful candidates should have hands-on operations experience as well.

Excellent open communication style required to carry out responsibilities with all level employees.

Must have the ability to communicate in a professional manner by phone, e-mail and in person with all levels of internal personnel and business contacts.

Travel less than 10%, however, must have valid driver's license.
