Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a Non-Ferrous Recovery Supervisor for the night shift in Council Bluffs, IA. This full-time role supervises production, monitors recovery targets, and ensures safety and quality on the line.

You will train and coach staff, log daily metrics, diagnose equipment issues, and collaborate with maintenance and environmental teams. Night schedule is 3 PM to 4:30 AM. High school diploma and 3–5 years of supervisory experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or processing setting.
• Familiarity with welding, mechanical repairs, and basic electrical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience directing maintenance personnel and overseeing shift operations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise shift employees to meet production targets for volume, quality, and material recovery.
• Monitor and accurately log daily shift metrics using internal systems and spreadsheets.
• Provide real-time coaching and feedback to improve employee performance and attendance.
• Diagnose equipment issues and determine whether in-house or external maintenance is required.
• Assist in training new hires and filling in as a back‑up equipment operator or maintenance tech as needed.
• Enforce safety and environmental standards, including dust mitigation, stormwater policies, and internal audits.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance with landfill and operational regulations.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Salary Range: $27.00 To $30.00 Hourly

As a Night Shift Production Supervisor, you’ll be on the front lines of our manufacturing operations, overseeing production processes, ensuring team safety, and maintaining quality standards throughout the night shift.
