Job summary

Atkore International is seeking a Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor (7:00pm–7:00am) at our Byesville facility. You will supervise and coach the machine operating staff, drive lean improvements, and own shift safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

You'll lead with accountability, teamwork, integrity, respect and excellence while coordinating with the Value Stream Manager. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Supervise machine operating staff with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
Lead teams using Lean tools for improvement projects focused on SQDC.
Must have strong communication and leadership to coach staff.

Responsibilities

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Night shift Manufacturing Supervisor (7p-7a) with our facility in Byesville. Reporting the Monogram Metals Value Stream Manager this person will be responsible for supervising and leading the machine operating staff with an emphasis on teamwork, continuous improvement, and full ownership for the shift safety, quality delivery and productivity performance.

What you'll do:

Lead the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within your teams and utilize Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Develop and coach team members within the value stream with necessary skills to identify problems and challenges, perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures and solutions as necessary.
Control and optimization of labor, materials, and machine utilization to achieve production goals and meet the production scheduling plan.
Achieve production goals to meet the production scheduling plan.
Manage vacation schedules and overtime
Communication with all levels of the organization
Lead by example and live the Atkore Values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence

What you'll bring:

High School Diploma with, bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Experience in steel operations desirable
Must have schedule flexibility and be willing to work additional hours based on business needs
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to solve problems using Lean Manufacturing tools
Electrical/Mechanical troubleshooting skills of industrial equipment is beneficial
Basic computer proficiency

Within 3-months, you'll:

Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
Understand your team's strengths and opportunities
Update daily production reports and KPI boards

Within 6-months, you'll:

Partner with Safety, Quality and HR to investigate and provide corrective actions for on-the-job safety injuries, customer complaints, and labor relations issues
Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's Core Values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence
Fully understand how you and your team impact Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost

Within 12-months, you'll:

Be managing and efficient team that meets or exceeds performance goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
Create and update reports, training materials and procedures as necessary
Drive Lean Transformation strategy for your shift. Drive and implement projects to improve SQDC

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $62,560- $86,020. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
