Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the PM shift at our Hobart, IN facility. You will supervise staff with emphasis on teamwork, safety, quality, delivery, and cost, reporting to the Value Stream Manager.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of supervisory experience and lean manufacturing exposure. Responsibilities include auditing processes, ensuring safety compliance, scheduling to meet customer requirements, and driving efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
Experience in steel manufacturing preferred.
Technical background in maintenance, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
AS400 and/or JDE experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Audits product and processes to ensure conformance to specifications and directs set-up and adjustments of machines.
Ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations with employees.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures or schedules to meet customer requirements.
Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.
Partner with Safety and/or HR to investigate, resolve and provide corrective measures for accidents, injuries, production, and personnel issues.
Maintain consistent and fair labor relations with employees.
Ensure the team honors Atkore core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence in all daily work.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor to be based out of Hobart, IN. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager, this person will be responsible for supervising staff with an emphasis on teamwork, continuous improvement and accomplishment of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The ideal candidate will have 5 years relevant supervisory experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:

Partner with Safety and/or HR to investigate, resolve and provide corrective measures for accidents, injuries, production, and personnel issues.

What you'll bring:

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Engineering degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing.
Experience in steel manufacturing strongly preferred.
Technical background in maintenance, industrial or manufacturing engineering required.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Lean Management experience a plus.
AS400 and/or JDE experience a plus.
Basic computer skills to include understanding of Microsoft Office.

Within 3 months, you'll:

Complete your Atkore immersion program.
Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
Gain an understanding of your team.

Within 6 months, you'll:

Gain an understanding of the current training materials and procedures your team owns.
Partner with the Value Stream Manager and Engineering to start identifying short- and long-term process improvement ideas.
Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

Within 12 months, you'll:

Create, update, and share training materials and documentation.
Have meaningful performance conversations with team and operators in area's supported.
Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $71,120 - $97,790. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
