Job Description

Purpose

The role of the Manufacturing Supervisor I requires basic knowledge and experience in its field. The individual develops competence through structured work, receives guidance from senior peers, and leads safe operations in compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The supervisor ensures high customer service levels, product quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance including cost reductions, and fosters a high-performance culture within the team.

Responsibilities

  1. Safety: Promote a safety-first environment, conduct safety gembas regularly, and maintain a zero safety incident culture in compliance with all EHS requirements.
  2. People: Effectively deploy team members daily, ensure proper task delegation, provide training, conduct engagement activities such as 1:1s and performance reviews, manage attendance, and communicate effectively with the team.
  3. Operational: Coordinate shift activities to meet production schedules, ensure smooth shift handovers, and plan and execute departmental activities safely.
  4. Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, conduct routine material and line clearance checks, and manage compliance issues proactively.
  5. Performance: Manage cycle times, seek process improvements, and optimize change-over times.
  6. Development: Develop direct reports through training and challenging tasks, ensure development plans are in place, and pursue personal growth proactively.
  7. Operational Excellence (OpEx): Participate in process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sciences or engineering.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years in manufacturing or related fields; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems like SAP.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality systems, and cGMPs; experience with documentation in regulated environments.
  • Experience in aseptic environments is desirable if applicable.
