Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a manufacturing leadership role responsible for guiding teams and optimizing production flow.

You will mentor staff, drive performance reviews, and ensure communication across upstream and downstream areas to meet departmental objectives. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication, and a proven ability to coach and develop others while upholding SEL values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to model SEL Values and lead teams effectively.
• Professional communication with diverse audiences; strong writing skills.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work; remove obstacles.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product flow upstream and downstream.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems.

Responsibilities

• Model SEL Values and leadership characteristics to employees.
• Provide clear direction to achieve department production objectives.
• Understand upstream and downstream areas to ensure accurate communication and product flow.
• Monitor performance, give feedback, mentor staff and write performance reviews.
• Assess training needs and oversee training initiatives.
• Address personnel issues under guidance and settle differences productively.
• Create and control area work instructions and reports.
• Use root cause tools to investigate and address quality issues.
• Promote safety standards and implement safety initiatives.
• Model, teach and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Understand. Create. Simplify.
• Other duties as assigned.
