Position Summary:
Responsible for the direct supervision of focus-factory/process production employees, maximizing safety, quality, variable cost, individual and plant-wide productivity, and technical skill development to ensure on-time shipments and customer satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and serves as their backup.
Position Accountabilities:
- Ensure production methods and practices meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and the AS9100 program.
- Assist in scheduling manufacturing operations within their focus-factory/process.
- Establish and communicate performance standards.
- Control product flow, materials, and labor to maximize productivity and minimize costs while meeting safety, quality, inventory, and throughput targets.
- Plan daily, weekly, and quarterly labor, equipment, tooling, and supply needs.
- Lead daily team meetings and solicit feedback to align on goals and improve the work environment.
- Implement systems for quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
- Maintain documentation and oversee time and attendance records.
- Manage scrap control and disposal.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet scrap, cost, and safety goals.
- Provide leadership to maintain a positive work environment.
- Analyze labor costs and adjust staffing accordingly.
- Handle supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline.
- Coordinate the My Idea program and support cross-training initiatives.
- Administer policies and procedures, promote safety, and conduct safety inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or relevant experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience.
