Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation, Latrobe operations, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to guide production staff, plan shifts, and ensure safety compliance in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (or two-year degree) and supervisory experience, with proficiency in MS Office and strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Candidates should be able to work overtime, weekends, and varied shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Two year college degree preferred. High school diploma required.
• Two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/operational environment preferred
• Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication, well organized, ability to prioritize and make decisions; strong problem solving and project management skills
• Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing principles, standards, methods and practices; disciplined problem-solving methods.

• Provide production employees with guidance, direction, and supervision in support of departmental operations.
• Promptly address performance issues.
• Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results.
• Plan and schedule operations within assigned area of responsibility.
• Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and respond to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
• Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
• Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

THE MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR WILL . . .

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR

• Two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/operational environment preferred
• Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions. Strong problem solving and project management skills.
• Practical understanding of industrial/manufacturing principles, standards, methods, and practices. Knowledge of disciplined problem-solving methods.
• Ability to direct and supervise others, objectively evaluate performance, and train and develop others.
• Able to work in a production-oriented environment and the ability to work overtime, weekend work and shift work.
• Willing to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment.
