Job summary

VFP in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Sourcing Manager to develop and execute direct and indirect material sourcing strategies. You will identify suppliers, assess costs, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery while aligning with NPD and cost-reduction initiatives.

You will lead cross-functional teams across sales, engineering, operations, procurement, and finance to improve quality, cost, and delivery metrics. Strong negotiation, analytics, and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing sourcing, cost estimation, and project management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and cost estimating software.
• PMI PMP or equivalent project management certification a plus.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to support manufacturing operations, including identifying suppliers, assists with cost estimates, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of components and materials. This role also manages projects related to new product introduction, cost reduction, and supplier transitions. A strong cross-functional leader, this individual works closely with sales, engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams to meet company objectives in quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Provide cost input for bids, RFQs, and strategic sourcing decisions.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field, preferred


• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing sourcing, cost estimation, and project management.


• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications.


• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and cost estimating software.


• PM P or equivalent project management certification a plus.


• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
