Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking a skilled Setup Technician in Byron Center, MI. This role focuses on machine setup, calibration, and efficient production changeovers to minimize downtime. You will prepare equipment, stage materials, and verify setups for first-piece approval.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in manufacturing, read technical drawings, and can safely use hand and power tools. Bonus skills include PLC/HMI experience and CMMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting or HMI interfaces (bonus).
• Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles (bonus).
• Certification in a relevant technical field (bonus).
• Proficiency in CMMS software (bonus).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical schematics (bonus).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stage equipment and materials according to production schedules.
• Perform mechanical and electrical setup of machinery and workstations.
• Verify machine calibration and make necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve setup-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and obtain approval before full production runs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
• Document setup parameters and procedures for future reference.
