Job summary

GEA Group in the United States is seeking a Scheduler to create and maintain production, work, and shipment schedules for a metal fabrication shop. You will forecast capacity, prioritize work orders, and collaborate with shop floor leadership to optimize resources.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain or related field (or 10+ years in manufacturing), 3+ years in production planning, and ERP experience. Emphasis on lean improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in SCM or related field, or HS diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Manufacturing/Production Planning.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in use of an ERP system.
  • Experience in job shop or engineer-to-order manufacturing is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain production, work, and shipment schedules.
  • Maintain production capacity schedule and forecast.
  • Prioritize work orders to optimize resources.
  • Confer with department supervisors on progress and dates.
  • Assist in solving production problems.
  • Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues.
  • Compile status and performance reports for management in a timely manner.
  • Work with supply chain for timely delivery of materials to the shop floor.
  • Develop and achieve department/company goals and controls.
  • Identify and drive areas of cost reduction, lean improvements and productivity gains.
  • Inform relevant departments of changes to the planned production schedule.
  • Evaluate staffing needs to accommodate current and future workflows.
  • Create and implement tracking measures to improve workflows.
  • Participate in data gathering for global reporting and lead daily status meetings.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management
High School Diploma or equivalent
