Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Vice President of Manufacturing to lead the scale-up of our rare earth metals manufacturing operations, beginning with our Exeter facility and extending to future production sites.

This leader will establish operating discipline, continuous improvement systems, and production standards to move from early commercial production to a repeatable, scalable manufacturing model that can be deployed at increasing scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Engineering or related technical field.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Experience scaling complex manufacturing processes to high-volume operations.
• Proven ability to lead multi-site expansion and large teams.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma background; Black Belt preferred.
• Data-driven with SPC, process capability, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead scale-up of rare earth manufacturing operations and future sites.
• Own safety, throughput, yield, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule.
• Develop and execute Exeter facility and expansion strategies.
• Build and lead a high-performing manufacturing organization across functions.
• Establish Lean/Six Sigma systems, problem solving, and data-driven improvements.
• Drive readiness and ramp-up for new equipment and processes.
• Create scalable production planning, standards, and governance.
• Eliminate constraints to increase capacity while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with engineering to industrialize new processes for repeatability and scale.
• Define manufacturing roadmap for broader production footprint.
