Job summary

Confidential Manufacturing Company on Indianapolis' west side seeks a Safety Manager to lead workplace safety and environmental health programs across offices, manufacturing, and warehouses. You will oversee OSHA compliance, risk assessments, investigations, training, and performance metrics.

You will partner with operations, engineering, and HR to drive continuous improvement, develop safety training, and maintain records for regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years of progressive experience in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, or a related discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or other regulated operational environments preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and occupational safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental health programs, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a positive safety culture with hazard reporting and accountability.
• Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
• Lead investigations of injuries, incidents, near misses, and equipment damage; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety performance metrics and leading/lagging indicators.
• Develop and deliver employee safety training and awareness initiatives.
• Coordinate new employee safety orientation and role-specific training.
• Provide guidance on OSHA requirements and applicable regulations.
• Evaluate equipment and processes for safety risks; drive improvements.
• Maintain safety committee records and regulatory documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness and drills; oversee environmental health programs.
