Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, through its JLG unit, seeks a Safety Intern to support our safety and occupational health programs. You will assist with training curriculum development, incident investigations, and compliance assessments across our production environments.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related field, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, strong communication, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct written program/procedure reviews and develop training curriculums based on these programs.
• Assist with accident investigations and follow-up with required corrective action.
• Develop and/or update safety and health training programs for various business units.
• Provide daily support to the safety department on a variety of safety projects.
• Assist and conduct internal compliance and injury reduction assessments to include follow through.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations on potential improvements.
• Quantify and present safety & health statistics to the management team.
• Support and manage the Safety Management System (SMS) All other duties and projects as assigned.
