Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation's JLG unit seeks a Safety Intern to support the Safety department by conducting program reviews, assisting with investigations, and helping develop training across manufacturing settings. You will gain exposure to multiple business segments within the organization and work in both office and production environments.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related field, with strong communication and leadership abilities, and a GPA

Qualifications

• Ability to learn new programs quickly while working in a fast-paced work environment.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.
• Familiar with manufacturing and safety principles is a plus.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct written program/procedure reviews and develop training curriculums based on these programs.
• Assist with accident investigations and follow-up with required corrective action.
• Develop and/or update safety and health training programs for various business units.
• Provide daily support to the safety department on a variety of safety projects.
• Assist and conduct internal compliance and injury reduction assessments to include follow through.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations on potential improvements.
• Quantify and present safety & health statistics to the management team.
• Support and manage the Safety Management System (SMS)
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
