Job summary

Crane Currency in Dalton, MA is hiring a Raw Material Helper to assist the Boiler Operator and manage material flow from the feed conveyor. Responsibilities include loading, isolating nonconforming material, receiving bales, recording inventory, and maintaining forklift readiness.

This role offers a shift-based pay structure with 2nd shift and 3rd shift differentials, overtime provisions, and participation in the company bonus and benefits programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial experience preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Ability to read and use a ruler.
• Ability to follow operating/safe job procedures.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an internal hoisting certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Boiler Operator in loading the boiler feed conveyor by cutting and directing material from the feed conveyor into the boiler.
• Isolate nonconforming material according to procedures.
• Install and remove the rotary boiler head.
• Receive incoming bales on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
• Maintain inventory records and log bale usage in the computer.
• Dispose of burnable waste to the compactor.
• Bail burlap.
• Ensure fork trucks are charged and inspected each shift.

Crane Currency has an immediate position opening for a Raw Material Helper.

Based out of Dalton, MA.

• Assist the Boiler Operator in the loading of the boiler feed conveyor by cutting wires and removing wires and sacking from the bales, directing the material into the boiler from the feed conveyor.
• Isolate nonconforming material according to documented procedures.
• Install and remove the rotary boiler head.
• Receive incoming bales on the second and third shifts.
• Maintain records of inventory and enter bale usage into computer.
• Dispose of burnable waste to the compactor.
• Bail burlap.
• Ensure the fork trucks are charged and inspect/complete fork truck check list at each shift.

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.64 to $30.19, based on factors such as industrial experience, previous paper manufacturing experience and overall qualifications. This role includes shift differentials of 7.5% for 2nd shift and 10% for 3rd shift and offers a progressive pay structure. Overtime is compensated at time and a half after 8 hours in a day, all day Saturday, and double time on Sunday.
