How you will make an impact

In this role, you will play a hands‑on part in keeping our power plant and manufacturing operations running efficiently and reliably. You’ll install, maintain, and repair a wide range of steam‑related and mechanical systems that are critical to production. From preventative maintenance to troubleshooting and project work, you’ll help minimize downtime and support continuous operations. This is a role where your mechanical expertise directly contributes to safety, reliability, and overall operational performance.

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of steam‑related equipment and mechanical systems
  • Execute preventative maintenance and respond to troubleshooting and emergency repair calls
  • Support maintenance across raw materials processing, papermaking, and converting equipment
  • Repair and rebuild pumps, bearings, seals, compressors, and related components
  • Perform fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic methods
  • Conduct equipment alignments, lubrication, and component change‑outs
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to complete work safely and efficiently
Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role
  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in support services or production
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with minimal direction
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, JD Edwards, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Ability to pass U.S. Government security clearance and maintain suitability for a Public Trust position
Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in the paper or related manufacturing industry
  • Experience with pumps, motors, piping systems, and mechanical equipment used in manufacturing
  • Root cause failure analysis experience
  • Experience working with maintenance systems and work order tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support team‑based maintenance activities

The salary range for this role is $27.56-34.76 hourly. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
