Job summary

Autocam/NN Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements on the production floor, develop standardized procedures, and support capital equipment planning. The role emphasizes APQP, GD&T, and lean practices to reduce costs while maintaining quality.

You will lead APQP teams, create comprehensive process documentation, and train operators on SPC, PFMEA, and Rospective improvements. This position requires hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training with 2+ years of experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Proficiency in APQP, GD&T, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with cost estimation and manufacturing software systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to develop standardized procedures and documentation.
• Provide technical support for capital equipment planning and implementation.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling for current and new products.
• Lead APQP teams and continuous improvement initiatives using APS.
• Create and maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
• Accurately quote new parts and update customer quotes.
• Train operators on machine operations, SPC, and process improvements.
• Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and EMS.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with product teams to develop standardized procedures and documentation that ensure consistent, high-quality, and low-cost manufacturing.
• Provide technical support for capital equipment planning and implementation.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling for both current production and new product launches.
• Lead APQP teams and continuous improvement initiatives using the Project Launch Guide and Autocam Production System (APS).
• Create and maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
• Accurately quote new parts and update existing customer quotes.
• Train operators on machine operations, SPC, document interpretation, and process improvement.
• Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
