The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for precision machined and assembled products. This role supports new product introduction, process optimization, tooling development, and production efficiency initiatives while ensuring quality, compliance, and operational performance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, work instructions, tooling requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead new product introductions from design release through production implementation.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to develop efficient manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve manufacturability and process-related issues.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, process documentation, and revision controls within ERP/MRP systems.
- Drive improvements in quality, throughput, cost reduction, and first-pass yield through data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design, evaluate, and implement tooling, fixtures, and process enhancements.
- Support testing, validation, and process qualification activities for new and existing products.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, documentation requirements, traceability standards, and change control procedures.
- Train and support production personnel on new processes, equipment, and work instructions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, machining processes, assembly operations, and manufacturing best practices.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and process development.
- Experience creating work instructions, routings, process documentation, and manufacturing standards.
- Familiarity with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machining, CAM programming, tooling design, and fixture development.
- Knowledge of process validation, testing, and production qualification activities.
- Experience with automated test equipment, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with regulated manufacturing or quality management systems.
- Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma experience.
