Job summary

Frymaster, a Welbilt brand, seeks a Manufacturing Project Manager to lead complex initiatives across operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance. Located in Shreveport, LA, you will drive capacity expansion, process improvements, and capital projects with cross-functional teams.

Successful candidates have 5–7 years in high-volume manufacturing, a PMP is a plus, and strong Lean/Six Sigma experience. Local travel and safety compliance are involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management or related field.
  • 5-7 years in a high-volume, high-SKU manufacturing environment.
  • PMI PMP certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Bring your passion for excellence to our table.As Manufacturing Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading complex manufacturing projects that improve operational efficiency, increase production capacity, support facility expansion, and drive process improvements across the organization. This role manages projects from concept through implementation, ensuring milestones, budget, resource requirements, and performance objectives are achieved.

The Manufacturing Project Manager serves as a key liaison between Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Facilities, and external contractors to successfully execute strategic initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.Reporting directly to the Dir of Operations, this position is based in Shreveport, LA*.This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work and reside in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming. Due to payroll, tax, and employment law requirements, applicants must be located in one of these states at the time of hire.

Duties & Responsibilities
Project Leadership
  • Lead and manage complex manufacturing projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop project charters, scope definitions, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple departments to ensure successful execution.
  • Facilitate regular project reviews and provide status updates to leadership.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success.
  • Prepare business cases, cost-benefit analyses, ROI to support capital expenditure projects.
Process Improvement
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve flow, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive measurable results.
  • Establish performance metrics and track project outcomes against defined objectives.
Capacity Expansion & Facility Projects
  • Lead projects supporting production capacity increases, facility expansions, equipment installations, and manufacturing layout changes.
  • Evaluate production process constraints and develop solutions to support future growth requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, startup, and validation activities.
  • Support strategic footprint and manufacturing growth initiatives.
Resource Management
  • Coordinate internal and external resources necessary for project execution.
  • Balance project priorities with operational requirements.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure project alignment and accountability.
  • Manage contractor and vendor activities as required.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all projects comply with company safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines.
  • Promote safe work practices throughout project execution.
  • Support risk assessments and implementation planning for new processes and equipment.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management or related field required.
  • 5-7 Years experience working within a high-volume, high SKU complexity manufacturing environment.
  • Preferably experience within automotive or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience leading capacity expansions, equipment installations, or major project improvements.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and operations management.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office-based
  • Travel required: 5%
  • Wearing proper PPE is required.
