Job summary

Fresh Express is seeking a Project Manager to provide engineering support across multiple manufacturing projects, coordinating layout, installation, controls and mechanical work while liaising with facility leadership and corporate engineering.

You will lead project activities, manage budgets, coordinate with contractors, and ensure startup, training and compliance with safety and quality standards in a fast-paced food production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing process environment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance inspections & audits.
• CAD drawings coordination and supplier guidance.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and noise/wet/cold environments.
• Willingness to work weekends when project installation requires.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Lead for specific projects within the facility and liaise between facility leadership and corporate engineering.
• Identify new business opportunities and initiate Capital Appropriation Requests.
• Identify and implement new processes to improve manufacturing efficiency and resource use.
• Coordinate with contractors for equipment specs, quotes and design.
• Schedule, coordinate, execute and commission projects.
• Develop project specifications and ROI for capital and expense projects.
• Work with production on startup and training of new equipment and systems.
• Provide support to plant maintenance groups including packaging, buildings and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal and company policies and procedures.
