Job summary

freshexpress in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Project Manager to provide engineering support across multiple projects, including layout, installation, controls, and coordination with contractors, production, QA, Safety, and HR.

You will lead projects within the facility, identify new opportunities, and drive ROI through capital and expense approvals while partnering with maintenance, utilities, and EHS&S to ensure compliance and startup success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing process environment.
• Preventive maintenance inspections & audits.
• AutoCad software and MS Office: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Coordinate / follow-up projects including CAD drawings, technical guidance for parts, equipment, and suppliers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in noisy, wet, and cold conditions (36°F).
• Availability to work on weekends when project installation requires.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Food manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and initiate Capital Appropriation Requests.
• Identify, recommend, and implement new processes to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Provide investigation, technical input, and engineering review.
• Evaluate plan specs for food safety, safety, and production.
• Coordinate with Contractors for equipment specs, quotes, and design.
• Manage and assign work to outside contractors performing layout design, programming, and installation.
• Schedule, coordinate, execute and commission projects.
• Develop project specs and secure approvals with ROI justification.
• Budgeting and procurement; plan, direct, control, and monitor budgets.
• Support plant startup and training of new equipment and systems.
• Provide support to plant maintenance groups including packaging, buildings, grounds, and utilities.
• Support EHS&S and plant compliance with laws, policies and programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Project Manager will provide engineering support for multiple projects requiring layout, installation, controls, and mechanical, coordination and cross communication between contractors, production, QA, Safety and HR.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as Project Lead for specific projects within the facility and be the liaison between the facility leadership and the corporate engineering group
• Identify new business opportunities and initiate Capital Appropriation Request
• Identify, recommend, and implement new processes and systems to improve manufacturing processes and use of resources and materials. Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance

• Evaluate Plan specs for optimal Food Safety, Safety, and Production
• Coordinate with Contractors for equipment specifications, quotes, and design
