Job summary

MSI Express, Inc. is seeking a capable engineer to lead small to mid-size projects, applying GMPs and sanitary practices within a food manufacturing context.

You will guide scope, design, budgeting, scheduling, line layouts, purchasing, cost estimation and implementation while coordinating with operations, maintenance, and vendors. The role requires hands-on design and installation of safe manufacturing systems, collaboration across teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering with emphasis on Mechanical, Manufacturing, Facilities, or Maintenance.
• Experience in contract manufacturing and food industry (short shelf-life) desired.
• Working knowledge of lean principles.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Performs all phases of project management and engineering for manufacturing operations.
• Scope definition, design, budgeting, scheduling, line layouts, purchasing, cost estimation and control.
• Supports GMP/sanitary practices in engineering projects and safe manufacturing systems.
• Selects and manages outside engineering as required to meet needs.
• Plans plant layouts to maximize facility utilization and production efficiency.
• Leads continuous improvement projects and mentors junior engineers.
