Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures electromagnetic and power generation systems for defense and industrial customers. The role focuses on developing and implementing efficient production processes for parts, components, and final assemblies, while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-effective manufacturing.

The candidate will collaborate with design engineering, analyze and resolve manufacturing issues, and support supplier activities and project plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Exposure to welding, fabrication and machining.
  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace manufacturing or industrial engineering is desired.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing concepts with safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and meet timetables.
  • Good communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • DoD Secret Clearance is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in fabrication of parts and assemblies.
  • Analyzes, investigates and resolves manufacturing and engineering problems.
  • Designs production operation sequences and tooling and equipment adaptations.
  • Collaborates with design engineering on technical specs to optimize equipment and processes.
  • Investigates, dispositions and justifies non-conformances.
  • Estimates manufacturing costs and determines time standards.
  • Ensures production processes comply with regulations.
  • Maintains records and reporting for manufacturing operations.
  • Supports on-site supplier kick-off meetings and project discussions.
