Job summary

Job Summary

Andersen Corporation is a leading manufacturer of windows, doors, and related products. We are inviting a qualified engineer to join our Manufacturing Integration and Transformation (MIT) team in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Location & Travel

Hybrid role with approximately 25% travel required.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the MIT team is to design and implement manufacturing processes and equipment across the Andersen Enterprise on medium to large scale projects. The Engineer will serve as a change agent, improving both production and functional processes while leading with integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Support project teams on the successful commercialization and start‑up of new equipment and processes.
  • Partner with operations, R&D, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements.
  • Interface with design, product engineering, supply chain, and other partners on design for manufacturability and process capability of new products or product extensions.
  • Provide informed recommendations regarding the viability of design solutions related to new or current processes.
  • Participate/facilitate cross‑functional meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of DMAIC tools such as process mapping, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, and control plans.
  • Develop specifications to procure production equipment and/or complete production lines.
  • Partner with the Safety group to ensure processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.
  • Create training tools, documents, and SOPs for production processes to ensure consistent manufacturability.
  • Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve production and material flow processes.
  • Work independently on small projects or coordinate with others on larger project portions.
Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience with mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with equipment procurement and capital projects.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and process capability.
  • Positive attitude and desire to build relationships.
  • Strong, proactive communicator in both 1:1 and group settings.
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCAD/Inventor).
  • Hybrid role with approximately 25% travel.
  • Location: Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Pay Range

$90,039.00 – $139,561.00.

Profit Sharing

In 2026 Andersen has set a profit‑sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid in quarterly installments tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
