Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks an experienced manufacturing engineer to plan, schedule, and oversee production processes, ensuring efficient fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

You will collaborate with product design engineering, analyze problems, estimate costs, maintain records, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance across DoD-related projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience.
• Exposure to welding, fabrication and machining.
• Degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace manufacturing or industrial engineering desired.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing and engineering concepts with safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly and manage tasks to meet timetables.
• Strong written and verbal communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance is desired.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and maintains manufacturing processes.
• Analyzes problems and applies technical knowledge.
• Designs production operation sequences and tooling procedures.
• Collaborates with design engineering on specs.
• Investigates non-conformances and justifies changes.
• Estimates manufacturing costs and time standards.
• Ensures processes comply with regulations.
• Makes and maintains records and reporting for coordination.
• Performs supplier audits and oversight.
• Communicates technical responses to suppliers.
• Supports supplier kickoff meetings.
• Assists with project planning updates.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Observes safety and procedures.
