Job summary

System One is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer for a contract assignment in Mahwah, NJ. You will support project managers, coordinate activities, track action items, and communicate with cross-functional teams on capital projects.

The role blends office work with floor exposure, offering learning through the project lifecycle and growing ownership of tasks as you progress, with a hybrid work model and standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical or related).
• 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships and co-ops considered).
• Strong communication and organizational skills; willingness to learn.

Job Title: Manufacturing Project Engineer
Location: Mahwah, NJ
Type: Contract
Compensation: $35- $40.43
Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in the execution of capital projects by coordinating project activities, tracking action items, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
• Attend project meetings, assist with equipment installations, FAT/SAT and validation activities, work with engineering teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues, and maintain project documentation.
• The role will involve spending time both in the office and on the manufacturing floor while learning the project lifecycle and progressively taking ownership of project tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships and co-op experience considered).
• Strong Communication & Organizational Skills
• Strong Technical Aptitude & Willingness to Learn

Preferred Skills

• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other project management certifications are a plus but not required.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes, automation, or robotics.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
• Experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, or other project management tools.
