Job Location: Bensalem, PA 18020
Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 per year
Shift: 2nd Shift

Position Summary

Reporting to the Converting Manager, this position will be responsible for directly supervising and leading hourly associates, while achieving quality and production objectives. The Production Supervisor will assist in promoting an environment that fosters continuous improvement through Lean methodology, collaboration, problem solving, and high performance. This role manages associate performance, drives positive change, ensures timely results, and satisfies customer needs. The Supervisor administers company policies and procedures, including quality, safety, and good housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with all production employees to ensure production standards are met and exceeded.
• Strive to improve the skills of associates by providing clear performance expectations, specific feedback on behaviors, effective coaching and mentoring, and identifying developmental opportunities.
• Train and develop hourly manufacturing employees, including on‑the‑job training, cross‑training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Operational Excellence by fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay current on all department and plant procedures related to the job, which can affect product quality.
• Expedite, prioritize, and coordinate equipment and tooling repairs or replacements with maintenance and engineering groups.
• Lead or actively participate in problem‑solving initiatives (root cause analysis, 5S, Kaizen events, or other lean manufacturing events).
• Ensure an organized, safe, and clear workspace.
• Address and resolve employee concerns, whether directly or indirectly disclosed.
• Record and prepare safety incident reports.
• Authorize production personnel’s time and attendance, manage absence issues, and coach or discipline as needed.
• Ensure products conform to quality standards.
• Ensure manufacturing practices are consistent with Unicorr policies, procedures, and all external regulations.
• Perform other duties as required, with or without accommodation.

Knowledge and Skills

• HS Degree (AS Degree or higher in a technical area preferred) and 2+ years’ experience in a capital and labor‑driven manufacturing environment; experience in corrugated manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in a Union environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and Lean Six Sigma principles preferred.
• Function effectively in a team environment.
• Well organized and self‑directed.
• High integrity and honesty.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interact and interface with production personnel as well as management.
