Welch Packaging Group Inc. in Ohio seeks a 2nd Shift Corrugated Production Supervisor to lead the Manufacturing department, upholding a behavior-based safety culture, producing quality products and improving plant efficiencies. The role emphasizes safety, output, and communication.

The supervisor will manage staff, monitor production metrics, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and enforce housekeeping and policy compliance on a busy shift from 2:30pm to 12:30am.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Packaging industry experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or training experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safety of associates and implementing safety procedures established throughout the plant.
• Manage, Develop, and motivate direct reporting staff
• Monitor, measure, and report on production related process performance, general issues
• Ensure clear communication to all staff
• Problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues quickly
• Maintain housekeeping standards for a clean and safe workplace
• Make decisions involving quality or scheduling within policy
• Communicate changes from crews to plant superintendent
• Enforce policies on attendance, quality, safety, conduct
• Maintain and authorize employee time cards daily
• Conduct new employee evaluations weekly in first month
• Responsible for RGAs
• Report and communicate order shortages and production/quality reporting

2nd Shift - Corrugated Production Supervisor

Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-12:30am

SUMMARY

Lead Manufacturing department to create and maintain a behavior-based safety culture, produce quality products and maintain and increase plant efficiencies..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for safety of associates and implementing safety procedures established throughout the plant.
• Manage, Develop, and motivate direct reporting staff
• Monitor, measure, and report on production related process performance, general issues
• To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
• Maintain and enforce housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
• Be able to make appropriate decisions involving quality, or scheduling while following the companies organizational structure.
• Communicate with the plant superintendent any changes communicated from crews.
• Enforce and discipline any associates breaking our companies policies (i.e. attendance, quality, safety, associate conduct).
• Maintain and authorize employee time cards on a daily basis
• Conduct new employee evaluations at the end of each week within their first month of employment
• Responsible for the completion of RGAs
• Report and communicate order shortagesResponsible for correctness of production and quality reporting
• Duties may vary depending on location

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience

• Packaging industry experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or training experience
