Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in our Bradford-area manufacturing operations. You will design and optimize processes, support production, and collaborate with QA to uphold high quality standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, cross-functional teamwork, and ongoing cost reduction without compromising product performance. Candidates should bring 3+ years of engineering experience and CAD proficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Experience with manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, machining, forming, welding, assembly, and/or industrial coating.
Demonstrated experience improving manufacturing processes, increasing production efficiency, and resolving production-related issues.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design programs.
Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment, collaborating closely with production personnel and supporting manufacturing equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products to improve efficiency and quality.
Identify areas for improvement within the manufacturing process and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
Provide day-to-day support to the production team, troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Analyze manufacturing costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality or performance.
Evaluate, specify, and procure new manufacturing equipment and tools; ensure proper maintenance and calibration of existing equipment.
Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including process flows, work instructions, and production reports.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and supply chain, to ensure smooth product development and production processes.
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
