Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking an operation process expert to guide build plans and implement industry best practices in our Kansas-based operations.

You will develop labor estimates, create tooling concepts for bids, and apply RCCA quality tools to resolve issues while coordinating with engineering, lean, tooling and operations teams. The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, a strong understanding of manufacturing techniques, and a Bachelor’s Degree (Lean Six Sigma is a plus).

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques.
• Experience with Continuous improvement.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and navigating 3-D engineering models.

Responsibilities

• Guide the build plan methods, sequence, tool plans, and layouts.
• Implement industry best practices within operations.
• Develop labor hour estimates and tooling concepts for new bids.
• Develop solutions for quality issues using RCCA tools.
• Provide expertise in production engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate with Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operations.
• Develop quality and cost-effective production methods and standards.
• Lead long-range technical research on proposed projects.
• Mentor less experienced manufacturing staff and operators.
