Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a state-of-the-art facility that manufactures architectural wood doors. This hands-on role reports to the Automation Engineering Manager and focuses on improving day-to-day manufacturing performance.

You will work closely with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to develop and sustain practical improvements, drive KPIs, and support a culture that values safety and employee growth on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Hands-on manufacturing problem solving to improve day-to-day performance.
• Develop practical solutions and sustain improvements.
• Coordinate with operators, supervisors and leaders on the floor.
• Strong communication across production, maintenance and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs.
• Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
• Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas.
• Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas.
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams.
