Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a hands-on role at our Manitowoc facility. You will partner with Production, CI, Maintenance and Engineering to solve on-floor problems, drive process improvements, and sustain gains through disciplined execution.

You will lead initiatives, collaborate across levels, and help optimize safety, quality, productivity and delivery metrics across assignments. A strong independent work ethic is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering required.
• Prior leadership experience is important due to independent role.
• 3+ years as Manufacturing Engineer in a custom assembly operation.
• Self-starter who can work independently and on a team.
• Project management experience from start to finish is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication across all staff levels.

Responsibilities

• Solve hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance.
• Apply process-improvement skills to meet KPIs.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure sustained improvements.
• Maintain a strong presence on the floor with operators and supervisors.
• Escalate complex problems requiring deeper analysis after initial response.
• Coordinate design, development and validation of manufacturing processes.
• Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas.
• Improve safety, quality, productivity and delivery in assigned areas.
• Drive metrics in collaboration with Production Teams.
