Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Florida is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes for CCA and cable assembly builds. You will analyze manufacturing workflows, implement improvements, and ensure high efficiency, quality, and reliability across MK48 programs.

Responsibilities include documenting procedures, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring production staff. A strong background in Lean Six Sigma, CAD tools, and IPC standards is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly manufacturing processes, including equipment, materials, and quality control methods.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs, stand for long periods, and access equipment on the production floor.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and stretch to perform equipment maintenance.
• Experience with MK48 program is a plus.
• Electronics or manufacturing assembly exposure is beneficial.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 and MIL-STD-130 standards is desirable.
• Experience with automation, robotics and AI is advantageous.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo/SolidWorks) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive process improvements across CCA and module manufacturing to boost efficiency and product quality.
• Lead MK48 assembly area improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Create and maintain detailed process docs and training materials for fixtures and stencils.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement changes.
• Develop and track KPIs to measure process effectiveness and identify further opportunities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to production staff, including training.
• Conduct experiments and trials to validate improvements and ensure system compatibility.
