Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to advance advanced manufacturing and process optimization. The role focuses on developing and refining methods, reducing waste, and improving throughput across multiple plants and shifts.

You will analyze production systems, drive data-driven decisions, and lead capital justification for improvements while partnering with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years of hands-on manufacturing or metals industry experience across machining, fabrication, forming, welding, assembly, or related processes.
Demonstrated experience in industrial engineering methods, project management, and manufacturing process development.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD/CAM; strong GD&T understanding.
Strong ability to communicate technical information to diverse teams.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and quantitative skills, including applied statistics.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing methods for repeatability, standardization, and scalable production performance.
Analyze workflows and equipment using time studies, method engineering, simulations, and SPC.
Create and maintain routings, BOMs, labor standards, and capacity models in ERP/MRP.
Lead cross-functional improvements, coach teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
