Job summary

Mueller Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead process optimization and innovation at our Virginia production facility. You will collaborate across departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations, reporting to the Plant Manager and driving productivity and product performance improvements.

You will guide cross‑functional teams, champion Lean/Six Sigma, and manage multiple projects with a focus on continuous improvement and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, robotics and electrical systems (PLCs, sensors, motor controls, HMIs).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• On‑site in a manufacturing facility; hands‑on work around machinery and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues affecting production equipment, automation systems, and tooling.
• Lead process improvement and product enhancement projects with measurable results.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to cross‑functional teams.
• Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to support production goals.
• Perform project work and other related duties as assigned.
